 Julianne Moore, an American-British actor, has a net worth $55 million. Her portrayal of emotionally disturbed women is the reason why she became famous in the 1990s. The New York Times placed her at #11 on its 2020 list of the 25 Greatest actors. Her birthplace was in Fort Bragg (North Carolina) on December 3, 1960. As the youngest of her three siblings she was raised by a military family. She is the daughter of Peter Moore Smith (a paratrooper in the U.S. Army) and Anne (a Scottish psychologist and social worker who immigrated to the U.S.A in 1951). Because of her father's work, Moore moved around frequently throughout the years, including stints in Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Panama, Nebraska, Alaska as well as other states. She attended nine different schools and has claimed that being constantly relocated led to her becoming a solitary child who was unable to make friends.When Moore was 16, the family moved from Virginia to Frankfurt, West Germany, where she went to Frankfurt American High School. Moore always wanted to become a doctor but she never considered acting or going into theater. Moore discovered plays through her reading passion and was involved in numerous plays at her high school that included "Tartuffe and Medea." Moore's English teacher advised her to study acting following the performance.
